How can I tell the difference between male and female Texas Cichlids

Telling the difference is hard, if not impossible in young fish. Adult males are generally more colorful and larger than adult females. Females also have a little more plump to them. Adult males also develop a bump on their foreheads as they age, but I have read where females develop this bump too so this method is not 100% accurate.
