Fish Type and Fish Food

Question
I have a fish and have no idea what it is...it has a very long and broad tailfin...that came in a variety of colors...the tailfin is almost as long as he is and twice and broad. He is small no bigger than the end of your pinky. I was feeding him tetra food, i have only had tetras and don't kno if he is or if i should feed him that b/c it could kill him or something, suggestions or help plz..thanks

If your in doubt about whether or not he is a tetra, try feeding tropical fish flake food. It will work for any tropical fish so should be suitable for whatever sort of fish you have. It is hard to say what he is from your description.
