Question
I bought two female dalmatian Mollies two weeks ago, one of them was fat when i got her so i assumed she was pregnant. The other gave birth two days ago, i only found three fry. (she did not even look pregnant, but now she looks thinner) So my question is could the chubby fish just be fat? She is white with black spots, she has turned a light grey color.

Answer
Hi Jennifer,
Female mollies usually are always chubby. They are always pregnant and carrying developing eggs or fry and usually they never get a break. Their ability to store sperm from just one mating means your two girls will be able to produce several broods of fry even if they have no contact with males in your aquarium.

Fish can be fat for sure. ;-) But most likely yours is just full of developing eggs or fry.

I hope this helps!
