29 gallon filter and moving!

Question
My question is actually two.  First, I have a 29 gallon, planted aquarium.  I do partial water changes every week, sometimes twice.  I have a biowheel filter as well as another HOB filter.  They just don't seem to be doing the job when it comes to removing debris from the aquarium.  Would a canister filter do a better job?  If so, which one?  I have had the tank for a little over a year and it is full, but not overstocked.
2nd question is how to move it! We are moving to a new house, about 10 minutes away.  Any recommendations on how to move the aquarium?  Thank you!

Answer
Jenn,
cannister would work great, a HOT Magnum standard by Marineland ...there are other choice as well...would be fine...
and not as expensive as a floor canister.
as far as moving, have some conditioned water at your new place, you can store it in a garbage can with an inert liner....drain your 29, put the fish in bags if your local shop will give you some, if not a cooler will work as well.
lower the water to just above thegravel....move the tank..
reset back at your new location, dont change the filters...add conditioned water from garbage can adjust temp...let circultate for couple of hours or so...and put your fish back in..should work out fine..either do it first or last, but not in the middle of other things you want to make this as smooth, fast and unstressful as possible for your fish.
Good Luck
