Question
hi karen,
i just bought a new angelfish for my tank today,(it's a very established tank) did the usual, let the fish get adjusted to the water for 15-20 minutes in the bag from the store, and drained as much of the store water out of the bag as possible before i put the new fish in the tank. it seemed ok at first, but now is moving real slow, and on its side, vertical ,etc... and it even got caught on the suck up tube for the filter, and couldnt get its self free.( i frrred it as soon as i saw that). it seems to just be moping around the tank kinda sideways, vertical, and the like. what causes that, and what can be done?
  thanks for your time,
  ken

Answer
Hi Ken,
Do you notice any other stress symptoms? Such as heavy breathing and/or clamped fins. Angelfish often lean on their side when they are frightened. Maybe try turning the light out for a while, it may help him settle. Add some extra hiding places maybe?

He probably just needs time. As long as the water quality is good, he is probably just scared.

Best wishes and I hope your angelfish improves!
Karen~
