single large white pimple on tetra

Question
Hi - I noticed this morning a large white pimple/protrusion on the side of my rasbora tetra.  It seems much larger than ich, there's only one bump, it is 1 to 2 mm in diameter.  He's still swimming around ok and eating.  What might this be?  It didn't seem like fungus, he's not flashing at all, no discoloration or ragged fins.  Is it a tumor perhaps?

Answer
Hi Bob... sounds like your tetra may have a parasite... what other kinds of fish are in your tank with him??? you can raise the temp in the tank a few degrees and ass some aquarium salt... but you will probably need a good med to help with the parasite or bacteria if its an infection.  Triple Sulphate would be my choice ...or you can ask at the aquarium if they have a better choice for parasites... please keep me updated on the fishes progress... dave...
