Adding salt to a freshwater cycle change

Question
I've had a new 75 gallon tank within the last week or so and with 15 tropical community fish (mollies , swordtails). Ammonia is .050 ppm...nitrites/nitrates, PH is fine. I want to do a small water change 6-9 gallons later this week. I already added 1 Tablespoon per 10 gallons of water when I filled the tank...and I first dissolved the salt (crushing it and mixing it took forever) . Now I worry that if I add the dissolved cycled water in the tank, it might harm the fish in the salt cloud of dissolved new water. If I simply add the crystals it will lie on the bottom and harm any scaleless or bottom feeders...that I want to add. Whats the best way to add salt to recycled water? I plan on using 1 teaspoon per every 3 gallons water added! Thanks!

Answer
Bob,
nothing to fear with the salt addition...
best place is behind the filter pads..or a plastic jar with some holes drilled in it...fill with water and let it sink in the tank the salt will leach out slowly...
be sure to use non iodized salt...marine salt would work very well...
the scaleless fish will simply swim to a less saline area...
Good Luck
