Question
Hi again, I was just wondering, if the Dwarf Gourami didn't work out with the Tiger Barbs in the 10 gallon and I were to get a Bala Shark, wouldn't it get to big for the tank? Or would it stay small to fit the environment? And I have another question to - My tank is done with the nitrogen cycle so i was wondering what tropical fish I could get to see if the water is good, that I could keep in the tank with the other fish.

Answer
Yes, eventually a bala shark would be too big. However, you should get a small bala shark and it would take it a while to get too big. Yes, to some degree they will grow to fit the environment but not always. A good cycling fish is mollies or platys. However, I would only get one as they may not work well with the tigers or they may, it varies. I suggested bala sharks because they can hold their own against the tigers. You can try fish like mollies, danios, rainbow fish, and maybe cory catfish but there is no sure way to know how the tigers will react to the others. Sometimes tigers can be community fish and sometimes they cannot. Fish have unique personalities and some are more aggressive than others. Whatever you choose, it is important to realize they may not work with tigers and to be sure to watch them for the first few hours to be sure they will not be picked on. I hope this helps.
