Adding Water to tank

Question
Stephanie, I was wondering how do I add water to my 10g tank. It is evaporating and I would like to add water to get the water level back to the top. I am not sure what exactly I should do. As far as treating, temp and the like. It's about 2 inches from the top. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hello!

A very good question, and one that you'll be happy to know has an easy answer.

To add water back to your aquarium simply use tap water. You may want to stick your fingers in your aquarium then under the tap to get an approximately close temperature. It will adjust, but try an get it close. Then add dechlorinator to the bucket you used to get the tap water in. Usually dechlorinator measurements are about 1 drop per gallon, or one drop per ice cream pail, which I like to use. Stir that in. If you add any products like Cycle, add that now too and stir it well, then simply pour the water into your aquarium!

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Good-luck,
From Stephanie
