Question
i have a 60litre tank, which i began cycling about 20days ago,i added 2 mollies 5 days ago and they seem to be doing well, i feed them every 2days with nutrafin flake food. i tested my water today and these were my results ph 8.0, ammonia 0.1 mg/litre, nitrate 10 mg/litre and nitrite 0 mg/litre. i will perform a 20% water change at the weekend to lower the nitrate levels and i added some bogwood today to try and lower the ph a little. i want to introduce 6 juvenile angelfish to the tank as i am hoping to get a mating pair over the next year, i am just wondering when will be the best time to introduce these fish, and should i phase them in or add them all at once?

Answer
Simon; In my answer I meant to type "LOWER" pH Not "LOSER" pH. Sorry! I caught it too late....

Hi Simon;

Your tank is too small for angelfish really. Angels need at least an 80 liter tank because of their size and temperament. You would need a 200 liter to keep 6 angels in, especially as they begin to pair off.

The pH is perfect for your mollies. They like it higher. They don't like soft water and that's what the bogwood will do. It would be much better to get a larger tank to have your angels and prepare it with the bogwood for them. Angels like softer water of a loser pH.

Good luck...
