Baby BiOrb Water Problem

23 16:28:52

Question
I received a Baby BiOrb for Christmas and set it up with the gravel provided, as instructed. However, the water has a very strong and unpleasant plastic smell. I've changed out the water - about 1/2 the water, twice over the past week, but the smell remains.
There is only one small, pearl-scaled goldfish in it and she appears to be doing just fine.
What do I need to be doing to this tank to get rid of the smell??

Answer
I'm not really sure what you can do about the smell. If the fish is ok I don't think there is a problem there. But if the smell is too much the only thing that might work would be to do water changes and hopefully the smell will fade after awhile.  It is really difficult to do anything else with this as even candles near the fish tank can cause harm to fish.
