40 gallons

Question
I have had a 40 gallon aquarium set up for about 4 months doing a fishless cycle. It is finally cycled. It has no fish at the moment. I like larger fish up to 10" I would like to know if you have any suggestions as to what up to 10" I could put in this tank. All suggestions are welcomed. It is a heated tank so something preferably tropical. There will be no other fish in the tank unless it is a shy fish that can use dither fish.

Hi Sonn:  I would suggest you do some research on the geophagus surinamensis which is a larger south American cichlid that will grow upwards of about 10 inches.  The nice thing about this fish is that it is gentle and you can mix in smaller tropical fish such as neon tetra, etc.   dave
