Question
How do I stop my oscar and red Devil for fighting? I had my oscar first then I got the Red devil and ever sense thhat it has been non stop fighting. The Red Devil has already killed one different oscar. And know he is bitting one oscar so bad that you can see underneith his scales on almost one whole side. What do I do?

Answer
Get rid of one of them. Oscars and Red Devils aren't compatible tank mates and who ever sold you them either together or apart, should have asked you what each was going in with and then told you that keeping them together would never work. Oscars aren't aggressive as such, they will just eat anything that can fit into their mouths. Oscars have their teeth set back into their mouth, whereas Red Devils teeth are visible on the outside and so if the two are lip locking, the Red Devil is going to do alot of damage to the Oscar. Not only is the Oscar not aggressive in the common sense of the word but the Red Devil IS. Red Devils are extremely territorial and are naturally aggressive.

You need to pick which of these fish you would like to keep and get rid of the other, unfortunately there are no other options, if you don't make the choice, the Red Devil will for you and it will be the Red Devil you are left with.

You must have a big tank to keep and Oscar and Red Devil together you'd be looking at least a 180 to 200 gallon tank....more if you've got more than one Oscar.
