Moving 75 gallon African Cichlid tank across town

Question
Simply put, I'm moving and need some advice on how to best accomplish this without killing my cichlids.  I have 7 africans and 1 bristlenose pleco in my 75 gallon. I have a Rena XP2 filter system. My decor consists of real porous rocks and sand, and a few plants, which I don't mind getting rid of since these fish love to pull them up. I had thought about getting a 55 gallon water storage drum to put most of the aquarium water in and using the rest as storage for the biomedia. But I need some feedback and more advice on the best possible way to do this. Thanks.

Answer
Jacob,
When moving fish we want it to be as smooth as possible. I myself have never had to move my fish but I found a website that explains how someone else did it. I do not know how big your Cichlids are but I hope it helps. If after you read the information and you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
