AnswerHi Joe,
That looks like a great fish you have there. The white mark might be scarring or it could be an injury that will heal with clean water. This means keeping your nitrates as low as possible with 50% water changes at least twice a week. With oscars, being as polluting and demanding as they are, they thrive best with water changes done as often as you can. Keeping an oscar in dirty water all his life will of course cause very difficult to reverse health conditions and his growth can become stunted.
Oscars also best feed a big variety of food and -no- feeder fish because these can carry disease and just aren't necessary for good nutrition.
