Question
Hi,

I was out of town & my male Betta, Jordy, had nothing to eat for 2.5 days, now he wants to eat all day long! As soon as i drop food into the tank, he goobles it ALL up within seconds. I don't know if i should keep feeding him as long as he's hungry or not. He's constantly at the top of the talk just waiting for food! Before those 2 1/2 days he did not eat THAT much. I'm a little concerned for the little guy...Please help.

Answer
Hi Courtney;

Don't feed Jordy any more than you normally feed him. He will calm down and get back to normal in a couple of days.  He is just wanting so much now because he got very hungry. He can develop constipation that could really make him sick if you indulge his appetite. You might want to offer him some little chunks of cooked and peeled green peas instead of his regular food for a couple of days just to be sure he can still digest properly after his little "binge". Ignore his begging. It's for his own good!
