betta fry with stuck air bubbles

Question
My betta fry is two months old, and she/he keeps getting air bubbles stuck in the left gill which causes the fry to swim lop sided, is this something to be worried about? Also when the fry does manage to push it out, as it goes to take in air again, the bubble reappears and it starts again. Please help.

Answer
Natalie,

First off, why are there air bubbles in the tank. Do you have a filter in the tank, a heater. How big is the tank? If you have a filter, turn it off and remove it. Fry are too small for filters unless its a sponge filter. I have never heard of this problem but I don't think it will hurt him. Because he can come to the surface to breath, he isn't dependent to water oxygen. If you have a filter, and you turn it off, I doubt that you will have this problem any more. If you don't have a filter, let me know and I can research it better.
