Question
how do i stop my fish from fighting? i have a 150+ tank with a wet/dry filter(sort of homemade). I have a tiger oscar, blood parrot and algae eater all small about 2.5 inches maybe 3in. they've been in the tank about 2 weeks now. today i bought 2 albino oscars(2.5in) and 2 jack dempseys(1.5in). when i put them in the tank the tiger oscar immediately started fighting the albinos. it di not bother the jacks. the parrot just hangs in the corner until i feed them, then it starts attacking the albinos if they try to eat. the albinos are not fighting back. i was thinking of getting a red oscar about 3.5 inches....is it safe can it deter some of the picking

Answer
Hi Meme,
Adding more fish is not going to deter the fighting.  What you need to do is to add more "structure" to the tank. Structure can be things like wood, rock and/or plants.  In one of my tanks, if it has a lot of structure, I cannot see the back of the tank from the front.  With that amount of structure, there will much be less fighting.
