Platy breeding

Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I am getting new fish, possibly platies, and they are going to live in the 8 gallon. I wanted to ask for breeding info on them. My Q:
Are they easy to breed?
What do I need to breed them?
Is it safe for the babies to be in the same tank as the adults?
What do babies eat?
What do grown ups eat?
What should I feed them to get in the mood?
Are they hardy?
How can I tell if they are ready to breed?
and
What are signs of breeding?

Sorry for so many q's but I'm so interested in the platy!
Bye!

ANSWER: Hi Manahil,

I was going to type answers to all this, but I have a couple really good platy links.

QUESTION: Hi,
Thanks for the great websites. I have visited one of them before but the other 3 were new. Sorry, but I didn't find the answer to "What should I feed them to get in the mood?". I added the websites to my favourites. Thanks again!
Q:

What should I feed them to get in the mood?

Bye!

Answer
Woops, I intended to answer that for you.  This happens when you get old.  Hehe.

Meatier foods put fish in the mood, so maybe some freeze dried shrimp would be on the menu.  Maybe freeze dried worms, freeze dried tubiflex...those all float really well and won't pollute the tank.  You can make one square last one week with only 2 platies.:)
