Strange mold in my tank!

Question
I have two very large Oscars in a 25 gallon tank; I transferred them to this tank about three weeks ago. I'm having a bit of an algae problem (which didn't happen before) -- really thick, and green. Also, I put a couple of live plants in there. Over the last couple of days, both of my filters' intakes are completely covered in algae, and there are these really strange, pink-ish, hollow spheres floating around (about the size of two or three peas, but in one solid sphere) with very white, almost clear tendril-type "arm" things that completely cover the pink-ish body of whatever that floating thing is. It's almost more coral.

Any idea what that is, or how to get rid of it and keep it from coming back? I've never seen anything like it.

Answer
Hi Lace,
What are you feeding your oscars?

By the way, two adult oscars in a 25 gallon tank is a recipe for disaster. Full grown
adult oscars are 12 to 16 inches long and I would only put two of those in a tank of 100 gallons or more.
