Question

Fish
I have a beta fish and every time i go to look at it it puts its gills on the side of his face.why does he do that. Here's a picture of what he does.I dont know if u can see.

Answer
Hi Liv,
He is flaring his gills to say "be careful, this space is mine and I am a tough male betta."  This is perfectly normal for a male betta.
