QuestionSir please help us how can we identify a flower is male or female yours truly
Kameshwaran
AnswerHi Kameshwaran,
There is no fool-proof method, but in general the body shape is subtly different. Females carry more of their weight in the belly and tend to be a rounder shape, whereas males are slightly more elongate. However, you cannot tell this just by looking at a couple of fish. You need to look at many, many fish (dozens at least) to appreciate the difference.
The most assured way of telling the sexes is just before spawning. The female spawning tube has a blunt-end whereas the male spawning tube comes to more of a point.
