Is my gold fish sick?

We have 2 regular gold fish and one of them has been laying on the rocks for 2 days.  It does eat normally. when it does swim it seems to swim really fast then goes right back to laying on the rocks.  It also lays in the same spot every time.
Any Ideas?

Hello Christina-

Your fish may have found a nice warm spot to rest and wants to make sure his tankmate doesn't steal it. As long as he's eating normally and not gasping for air, he's probably fine. Are there any other symptoms? When he swims, is it normal (i.e. right side up, and not on his side?)
