sick beta?

QUESTION: I am not sure if my fish is sick.  It was doing great and this morning I woke up and it looks as if it's pregnant.  Showing no interest in eating and seems sluggish.  The color is still great and I don't see any signs of fungi or anything.  I changed the water.  Could the fish actually be pregnant?  I have had it for about a month.  Thanks for your help

ANSWER: Ok your betta might have a case of dropsy it is usually when the scales are standing up like pinecones. If your fish does have dropsy treat him with maracyn-two and it should clear up perfectly.

QUESTION: Help again.  Now it seems as if he is having trouble swimming.  He can't stay straight up, he keeps going on his side and seems very hungry.  Really grabs for the food.

ok it sounds like he has a swim-bladder infection i would go to the petstore as soon a s possible and buy a medication to treat swim-bladder infections. Also peas might help so I would cut up peas so they can fit in his mouth and that might help, but it wouldn't hurt to try it with the medicine.
