My Red Orandas

Question
I have two red orandas, and one that came in the same tank at the store, it's whitwesh, black, orange and red. I thinkit's a black oranda? Haha. Well, it has been acting strange for awhile now, it always floats to the top of the tank, then it struggles to get down, then floats up again and might be sideways or upside down, then i come to the thinking nit's dead, but then it flips itself rightside up again or just goes back to floating up or sideways while floating. Should I be worried? It's about 2-3 inches long, 1-2 inches in height. But the red orandas are bigger. I'm not sure if they're pregnant or what?

Answer
Hi Christina,
Does it eat food that floats at the top of the tank?  A lot of goldfish seem to swallow air when they eat floating food and that creates the kinds of problems you describe.  The solution is to feed them with food that doesn't float.  Or, if you are feeding them flakes, put the flakes under the water, rather than on top of the water.
