my fishy i just want to know if u can tell me what Kind of fish this is, i got two from walmart and i know they said it was in the oscar family but i cant rememeber their name =(

Hi Meghan,
  They are called blood parrot cichlids. Cichlids are a large family of freshwater fishes found in Central and South America, Africa and a tiny bit of Asia. Oscars are a type of cichlid. The blood parrot is actually a man-made hybrid that was created about 15 years ago in Asia. It is an artificial cross between two species, one was likely the midas cichlid of Central America and other was likely the severum, a cichlid from South America.
