Question
i bought a fantail from my local pet store a couple of days ago but it looks lonely so i was going to get a black moor as a friend because they were together in the shop, the only problem is i have noticed that the moors have white spots all over their bodies (the other fantails look fine, and my fish isnt showing the same signs) but apart from that they look healthy and are swimming around fine, are they healthy or is it best to avoid that shop and get a fish from else where? please help as my fantail is looking very lonely!

Answer
Hi KT,
Never buy a fish that has white spots on it, if they are small white spots.  Those are ick and they will kill that fish and any other fish in the tank  if not properly treated.

Fish don't get lonely the way people think that they do.  Many fish are far happier without another fish in the tank so don't get another fish for the fish's sake.
