Question
QUESTION: As i have mentioned above i have two arowanas i.e. one pearl Aro and one Silver Aro . The problem is that they both are hurting each other so i have put a partition glass in between to keep them far itz been 2 months now but 2 days back i removed the partition and just checked if they could be comfortable with each other but its the same . So should I get some other fish such as Oscar , shark , Gurami or may b a Pacu you know so that they could adjest and so my Pearl wont hurt my Silver arowana is this the option or something else . I would be thankful if anyone out there could help me .

Have a great day !!!

Thanks and regards

Anoop .

ANSWER: Anoop, I personally have had arowana's. I have had them with pacu's. Everyone else you mentioned is just food for them except the oscar's. Make sure the fish you get has some size on it. Especially since your arowana's have attitude and they in general grow quickly. Definitely go with the oscar or the pacu. They grow quickly and can usually hold their own with some size on them. I bet your pearl is just beautiful. If you have any other questions feel free. Good Luck, Tina

ANSWER: Anoop,    Your Arowana's are very territorial. This is not uncommon to have to separate these beauties into separate tanks. They have attitude like I told you. Ashame they can't be the exception to the rule, Anoop. Unfortunately, If you have no room for another tank set up they will probably stress, injure, or possibly kill each other. I am so sorry to give you bad news. I am curious ...How big is your tank and how are they getting along with the Oscars? If you have a way I would love to see a picture. Have a Great Day and Good Luck, Tina

Answer
Anoop,   Thank you it has been a long time since I have seen Arowanas. These guys are just two gorgeous, healthy specimens. Honey , I know you want a different answer and yes there are exceptions to the rules but, these two are not. The only way I can you even see you trying to get these guys to live together is go with a 125 gallon tank and putting alot of rocks and fake plants to let them stake out their own territory. That may or may not work. It is just they get so big and are so territorial in tanks. Keep your partition in until you can either separate them or try a larger tank (which may or may not work). I am sorry Anoop.:( Let me know if you decide to change tanks or set up another one and I will tell you how to get it to establish and cycle out abit quicker., Tina
