Question
i have 2 parrot chiclids who are making a nest in the gravel and we believe they are breeding.this is new to us and we were wandering if we should move them to a seperate tank or if this would casue them to become stressed.any help would be greatfully appreciated.thank you.

Answer
When you say parrot cichlids which are you referring to? There are many parrot cichlids.

I'll guess that they are blood parrots for now.

If so, breeding is impossible. Not just difficult or unlikely, but physically impossible.

In order to control the demand, the suppliers sell blood parrots sterile. You can cross breed them with other things but two parrots will never mate. They may try to clear out a spot or something, but you will never see fry.
So you can just leave them where they are.
