Question
My brother has an oscar fish and I was playing with it. When i stuck a plastic
rod into the tank, the oscar bit at it, like normal. However, when I looked at
the rod afterward there were tiny white worms on it. What would cause the worms
to be found in the oscars mouth? Where would they come from and how can I get
rid of them?

Answer
Hi CJ,
Those little white worms often appear if you are not doing enough water changes. Particularly with oscars, you need to change 25% of the water in the tank once a week, EVERY week.  Also, be sure that he is not overfeeding the oscar.  Overfeeding will put extra nutrients in the water, which is what the little white worms live on.
