community cichlid

Question
I have a community tank of 29 gallons.  I love cichlids, but im not sure which ones would be safe.  I have plattys swordtails 1 clown pleco and some catfish.  If you could tell me wich fish would be safe in this environment i would appreciate it.

Hi Paul,
 Unfortunately, not many would be safe.  The issue is not the cichlids, but rather the platys and swordtails.  Most likely they would not fare well if you put cichlids in that tank.  The exception MIGHT be if you went with some of the dwarf cichlids, e.g., Apistogramma and similar species.  

 Any of the larger cichlids would regard the platys and swordtails as live food, unless the platys and swords were really large and fast.
