Question
Hey...

The people in petsmart were telling me otherwise thats why i was asking you about my fish selecting questions I just go my biorb yesterday it is a six gallon .
i took along time to get here though i was so anxious!
it been running for about 15-16 hours its really cool!
So if i put a female and a male together for a day or so the will mate ? i have quite a few little tanks that she can go into because i like both of them and whenever i pass them in a store it makes me sad to see them in those little cups ...!
The biOrb thing said that this biorb is good for bettas just turn of the filter ?Can they still live with a filter ?

Well thanks ! -korie

Answer
Hey :)

Alright, first things first. Beta mating. Yes, if you place a male and female beta together they will mate, maybe. Beta mating is a very brutal experiance. Sometimes you'll get a successful mating. Sometimes you'll just end up with a dead female. Its very important however that you keep an eye on them and make sure that once the mating is done, as the male goes off to the eggs you remove the female, if you dont she will likely be killed.

Beta fish do not need a filter, they will live just fine if you have one though. You do however need to make sure you are changing 1/4th the water about once a week. And as always, make sure you remember the water conditioner :)

Hope that puts you on the right track,
Andy
