my afriacan cichild

i have had a cichild for 3 months now. he has been fine up until about 1 week ago. he keeps twitching. what could be causing that? he is still eating very good. some days he acts like he don't want to eat though. he is in a 2 gallon tank by himself. am i doing something wrong? he seems to be completely healthy besides the twitching. thank you

Hi Ashley,
  A 2 gallon tank is a very tiny amount of water to keep a cichlid in.  I wouldn't keep one in less than a 10 gallon tank and even that is very small.  

  Are you doing regular water changes?  On a tank that small, you need to be doing very regular water changes of at least 25% of the water once a week, if not more often, to keep him healthy.
