worms in my fish tank

i got up this morning and found red worms in my fish tank and my fish are eating them.will they harm my fish?

Hi Jennifer,
That is a bit odd. Has anyone fed your fish blood worms? They are red, and they should be harmless to your fish unless they are certain Cichlids.
If they are not actually worms and possibly are fish waste - which can resemble worms, then there is a problem. Especially since it is red. But let's hope it is blood worms.
If you think it's something else, do some gravel vacuuming and get rid of the worms, and do a 25% water change. That will help you get started on removing the problem.
