My parakeet is sick

My daughter got a parakeet for her birthday last year and now she is showing symptoms of illness. It is a female about 2-3 years old and she has very watery stool. sleeps all the time and she is just not active at all. I am a single mom and can't afford to take her to a vet. I don't want to see the bird die because my daughter is really attached to her. I need help,what should I do?

Of course I say , You should take her to the vet..BUT..you may also try the tetracycline for birds you can buy at either Pet Smart or Pet Supplies Plus. It is an antibiotic. They also sell Oricyn-Plus...this is the one I would recommend due to the vitamins and omega 3's that are added to it also. You are probably not feeding a proper diet, please investigate the proper diet for a parakeet , they also need fresh fruits and veggies, grains , and pastas everyday. Are you cooking with tephlon? Use Candles? Incense? All of these things listed are poison. I also recommend you investigate household dangers.
