New Store bought Loverbird.

I recently purchased a Love Bird from a local pet store. The bird arrived there Approx. 3 months ago. I have had him four days now and he still seems to be adjusting to  his surroundings and not paying alot of attention to us, other than to stare at us. We have a cuttle bone in his cage and the last two days he spends all his time on top of it, in the corner of the cage. Is he bonding with his cuttlebone and not us? Should Remove this from the age for now? Also any hints on how to get him to adjust and start getting use to us. We would like to be able to handle him.

I don't reccomend removing the cuttle bone the bird needs it to keep its beak filed down, give the bird a few days tehn begin taming...the bird is just scared of its new home right now and needs time to adjust.
