Question
hi there i have a 2 year old male peachfaced lovebird who is wanting attention 24/7.we got him when he was 6 weeks old and he was hand reared we had a budgie at home who was 7 years old they became good friends, but over time the lovebird was dominating even at a young age we would let them run around the house togehter and what mischief they got up to then they went to their seperate cages at night. After about a year the budgie died and the lovebird was ok at first but now he wants everyones attention all day!he jumps off the furniture, his cage etc every time you walk past him so he can sit on your shoulder or suggle in your shirt, then he doesnt want to go back to his cage.he pumps the cushions, tissues, socks etc and i have to take them away.He will sit at the front door and watch you leave in the morning he is very clingy and we have all had enough!should i get him another lovebird as company i thought about it before but was not sure if he would like the idea or not but now i think he might need some company what do you think?he is a happy bird and like everyone in the family but the clingging is getting to much.I have started to locked him in his cage for a hour or two each day at first he paced up and down wanting to get out now he is slowly getting used to it but the rest og the time he is out running around the house doing his own thing when he is not chasing us down.Hope you have some suggestions thanks

Answer
Hello sounds like a spoied bird to me. You can get him a friend but he will likely start to ignore you and you may loose your little buddy. but if he is only penned up for two hours everyday he needs only you this is much better then any other bird i've heard of.
