lovebird mating with bed?

I have a lovebird that is about 6 years old. I believe it is a male. I recently put one of those bird beds in the acge thinking he may want to snuggle in it. Instead he has been mounting the bed and seemingly trying to have sex with it. Then he began regurgitating food on it. I find he wants to be in his cage much morfe often. Does he think this is a mate? Is the regurgitating behavior dangerous? Should I remove the bed?

Cahnces are he thinks its another bird or knows its not but sees it good enough to feed and mate anyway. THis behaiver isnt going to hurt him at all and its up to you to remove his bed or not if he gets cage agressive or wont let you take him out because he is protecting the bed take it away.
