Question
Hello, i have two peach faced lovebirds male/female teh male is  1 1/2 years old the female is 6 1/2 months and just got through her first moult her face is very bright now. I was wondering when to introduce the nesting box? The male feeds her all the time and they cuddle all the time as well.

Answer
Hi, Lee.

Lovebirds should be about 18-24 months old before you allow them to mate/breed, particularly females.  This female at 6.5 months of age is too young to breed.  You need to let the female mature longer before breeding them.  If you breed females too young (or overbreed them), they may not know exactly what to do and/or usually results in a shortened lifespan.
