QuestionWe got a new bunny, and we don't know what kind of breed he is. He's got short hair, really really soft hair(like velvet), he has straight and not short"average size" ears, black hair with brown redish spots all over his body, and I think he's pretty small, but I don't think he is a dwarf, he's almost a year old.
Thanks in advance :P
AnswerHe pretty much perfectly fits the description a mini rex. In my opinion, they are a wonderful breed! I raised them for 12 years before I had to stop raising rabbits, and they tend to be very sweet and cuddly rabbits. Mini rex are technically a dwarf breed, but they are the largest dwarf breed. The females can weigh up to 4 1/2 pounds for showing, but non showable ones can get larger.
The black hair with brown-red spots could be a harlequin or a castor.
