a dark discharge

I have a 4 year old boxer. We breed her for the first time. If she is pregnant she would be 35 days. this morn she had a small gooey brown jelly discharge. it was like a size of a dime and was on her vulva then she sat down and got on the carpet. Is this bad?

Hi Julia. You need to take your girl to the vet, fast. She may have pyrometra. It can be very dangerous to the dog. She can be cured from this, and be successfully bred again. However, if it is pyrometra, then she will be more likely to get it again. The only cure for it is to have the dog spayed. It could be something completely different. Any colored discharge before the birth of the first puppy needs to be investigated. I hope everything's ok.
