Breeding my Staffordshire bull terriers

My bitch is 4 & my male is just 12 months. We have a german shepherd bitch & our male shows interest in her, trying to mount her, but shows no interest in mounting my staffy bitch. Is there anything that you can suggest.

Separate them. If your female is coming in heat, when you put her back with your staffy he should pay attention. He's young and confused. Sometimes dogs who grow up together really have to be kept apart during breeding , putting them back together every other day beginning the thirteenth day of the cycle, in order for the male to show enough interest to breed. Especially with a young male like yours. Get your female GSD completely out of the picture so as not to confuse the issue even more
