Puppy ears

Question
Hello, I have an odd questions. I recently adopted a 8 week (or so we think) male puppy from a local rescue. He is black and white, mostly white, with grey eyes. He had floppy ears like a labs but literally overnight he developed a fold in the middle of the ears, like a pit bull or bull terrier. My best guess to what he is mixed with is one or more of the following (based on picks of the puppys): Stafforshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull, or a different type of pit bull. He is a mix but he looks alot like the pictures of these puppy breeds. My question is, at what age do the puppies start changing the ears (from completely floppy to folded in the middle)? Also, is there a certain breed this is a characteristic of? Thanks for your help. I am just trying to get a better feel for his age and breed mix.

Answer
Hi Rachel

If you could send me a photo, I can get a better idea. As you can take all the breeds you mentioned throw in the English, American and Olde Bulldog's too.

Regardless of the breed, all of those mentioned can be excellent or destructive pets.  What matters is the consistency and training you give him starting now.   Socialization is key.  It's not enough to have him visit your Mother's cat, take him to parks, let him interact with people, kids, and animals.  Sign up for puppy classes and let him meet the world around him so he can learn to be the best he can.
