Question
My Corgi female has her first litter not that long ago.  She labored and pushed and ended up needing a C section since it was one large pup.  The pup did not make it. However she came into heat not soon after and got pregnant again(not planned).  Will she need another C section again?  I am worried the incision won't hold up.  There is more than one pup in there since she is so lumpy. She is going on three years.  Should I allow her to have the pups naturally?

Answer
Typically it's advisable to wait a year between section to allow the body to heal properly.

The concerns are pups adhering to the scar and the incision not holding.  I would have x-ray's done after day 50 and discuss it with your vet.

Depending on the size of the litter she may be able to whelp naturally.  You want to ensure that she is kept physically fit and the pups don't grow to large.  No puppy food for the dam until after the pups are whelped.

Good luck
