My female Shiz tsu

My female is getting bigger and very miserable by the hour it seems! She is not due until 02/26 (conceived on 12/25) and I am a little concerned. She is barely eating if at all and her milk has come in...she is also following me and will not let me out of her sight and digging under my bed but doesn't seem to be in labor??? how can I tell? When should I expect her to have the pups?

Hi Anna. Try to feed her frequent small meals. Her belly is probably so crowded, it's uncomfortable to eat bigger meals. What you describe is normal for a girl close to her due date. Real labor the dog will be digging like crazy, and panting just about non-stop. This is the first part of labor. This can last up to 24 hours before whelping actually begins. As for the milk, some girls will get it in early. Keep an eye on the milk and for any hot/red spots on her breasts. I can't say for sure exactly when she'll whelp, but hope that she makes it at least to day 58 for the pups' sake, which should be on 2/21 according to your dates.
