Question
is there a way i can get my dogs pedigree papers without knowing who his parents are? maybe through blood test or something? i bought him from a breeder but i didn't need the papers at the time and now i would like to register him, but i cant find the breeder anymore to get his papers.

Answer
No, sorry, this is not possible without knowing the parentage. You might try contacting the American Kennel Club to see if they have a more current address on your breeder; I am assuming you already tried an internet search on the breeder's name and kennel name. You might also try other breeders (of your breed) in your area to see if they are familiar with the person for whom you are searching.

AKC does offer Indefinite Listing Privileges (ILP) for those wishing to show their dogs in Performance Events but who do not have registrations papers on their dogs. The dogs must be neutered.
