Question
My american pitbull will be 2 in may, we have had him since he was 8 weeks.  We got him potty trained but it took away asfar as peeing inside.  He would pee when he was in trouble, when someone came over or at the door when we would be taking him out. Then we moved and he became and outside dog for about 7/10 months.  Now we moved again and hes peeing all over again,  when in trouble, excited or we are putting a leash on him to take him out to do his business.  When i say intouble i barley have to raise my voice and he squits and pees.  He is a very good dog but if we can't fix this i am afraid we have to get rid of him.  We do have a choc. lab too thats 4 who doesn't do this.  do you have any info on why or what we could do? Maybe direct us in the right spot?  TY

Answer
What your dog is doing when he is in trouble is called 'submissive urination.' Usually it is a puppy problem that the dog grows out of if it is ignored. If, however, you've been scolding him for it, that is probably why it has continued. He is also exhibiting 'excitement urination.' Neither is something he is doing intentionally to spite you. In fact, it really isn't under his control; it just happens. You may have to let him wear a belly band when he's in the house, so that if he does urinate, it will not go on your floor. This may also help stop the problem.
