Question
My mum has a 12 week old male border collie who snaps at her grandson. He also snapped at my brother and broke the skin when he tried to retrieve a sock from him.  This isn't just play biting.  it is snapping to the extent he breaks the skin.  She is extremely worried as we have never had any dogs showing this behaviour at such an early age.  he can sit and eyeball her grandson and then out of the blue he snaps.  Please help as she also has a grand daughter under 2 years of age and obviously is very worried.  I have pleaded with her not to give him away but this is the road she is thinking of taking for the sake of the kids. Is this a common problem and is there any way of dealing with it.

Answer
Well what you can do is tap his nose and shout 'no' Or use a spray bottle and do the same thing

A really good idea though, would be to get him enrolled into dog obedience school, and 12 weeks is about the right age,as that can help adress problems now, rather then later when it'll be worse
