Question
Can a dog have a reaction to the rabies or distemper vaccine? Can the reaction be excessive salivating?

Answer
Yes, dogs can have reactions to rabies or distemper- excessive salivating indicates an upset stomach which is a possible reaction. You may also notice him stumbling, lethargic, throwing up, dizzy, or feverish. If you notice any of these symptoms, or if things get worse over the next 2-3 days, he needs to go back to the vet. I hope he feels better!
