diabetic 12 year old dog

this Lhasaapso is insulin injection dependent Are there glucose monitors for animals?  Would one for humans work?  Trips to vet leave him traumatized after a 12 hour check up.The animal is 12 years old.

You should ask your vet, he/ she might be able to tell you  if a glucose monitor meant for a person would work  on a dog.
